·         On August 4, 2008 expert committee, chaired by Milkha Singh announced Raviv Gandhi Khel Ratna award for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, ODI and Twenty20 captain of India

·         Dhoni becomes second cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar to get the honour.
