in Asia,
with four of
them
figuring in
top 10
billionaires
of the
world, US
has 469

Microsoft
founder Bill
Gates (58
billion
dollars) as
the richest
man of world
after 13
years at the
top.

Only one of
those,
Lakshmi
Mittal, was
among last
year's 10
richest per
son of the
world,
moving up
from fifth
place to
fourth in
the new
list.
·
By
nationality,
the United
States still
easily led
the rankings
with 469
billionaires
up from 415
last year,
but Russia
replaced
Germany as
the second
placed
country with
87
billionaires.
·
The total
number of
Asian
billionaires
jumped by a
third to 211
with a total
wealth of
$804
billion, up
from $552
billion last
year. The
latest list
is based on
networth
valued as on
February 11.
·
India is
followed by
China (42),
Hong Kong
(26) and
Japan (24)
as the top
source of
billionaires
in Asia.
