that w.e.f
March 1
“employers
in Bahrain
will have to
pay a
minimum
salary of
100 Bahraini
Dinars
($266) a
month to
unskilled
workers from
India across
all
sectors”.

275,000
Indians in
the Gulf
nation, many
of them
working as
contract
labourers in
the booming
construction
industry.

Bahrain is
an
archipelago,
consisting
of
approximately
36 islands
located in
the heart of
the Arabian
Gulf, lying
32 kms off
the eastern
coast of
Saudi Arabia
and 29 kms
north of
Qatar.

The total
area of
Bahrain is
approximately
691 sq. km.

companies,
Bahrain
levies no
taxes on
income,
capital
gains,
sales,
estates,
interest,
dividends,
royalties
or fees.
