Crime in Indian trains

Railways shared that
a crime takes place
inside trains or at
railway premises
every 30 minutes - a
significant number
of these crimes are
taking place in UP,
Bihar and Jharkhand
- Worse, the first three months of
2006 witnessed an
over 200 per cent
increase in the
number of rape cases
inside Indian trains
and railway
premises.
- Between January and March, 20
rapes and 38 cases
of dacoity were
reported to the
railway police.
- During the same period last
year, six rapes
and 21 cases of
dacoity were
registered
